The Africa Investment Forum Market Days took place from the 4th-6th December 2024 at Rabat, Morocco., under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

This year’s theme, “Leveraging Innovative Partnerships for Scale,” underscored the commitment by partners to drive transformative investments across Africa through strategic collaborations.

The MD/CEO of SAGLEV, Dr. Sam Faleye was part of the high level panelist. He spoke on Developing New Investment Flows Into Africa.  He said that there would be a huge demand for electric vehicles in Africa, which will translate directly into jobs in the ride-hailing industry, among others. However, what is needed is investment to fund buyers of the vehicles. He added that blended financing and concessional financing are important in funding buyers of EVs; export credit agencies already in Africa are in a good position to provide this funding. Private Public Partnerships can de-risk such investments.

The sessions were very interactive and informative as it brought together thousands of global investors, heads of development finance institutions, and business and government leaders to advance critical investment transactions to closure. Some of the speakers includes Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, President and Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank Group; Boitumelo Mosako, Chief Executive Officer, Development Bank of Southern Africa; Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the Board of Governors, Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, amongst other high net-worth individuals.
